David Holloway wanted to be an astronaut until a surgeon saved his finger after a childhood accident. After completing his family practice residency Dr. Holloway built an urgent care and family clinic in a small Oklahoma community. Since then his professional path has taken him to Indiana and Oregon. Throughout his medical career, first as a practicing physician and then as a leader in clinic and hospital settings for the last 20 years, his focus has always been on patients. He is a committed advocate for patient safety and making sure that patients receive the right care every time. Dr. Holloway completed medical school and residency at the University of Oklahoma. He joins BMC after serving 8 years at Salem Health where he was the hospital system’s Chief Medical Officer. Previously he was Chief Quality Officer for Parkview Health in Indiana, Vice President St. John Health System and President of OMNI Medical Group in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He is recognized as a Certified Physician Executive through the American Association for Physician Leadership and is a Fellow of the Academy of Family Physicians.
