Project Manager
Project managers are part of an exciting, collaborative, community-centered team focused on bringing organizations and individuals together to improve the health and well-being of all Central Oregon residents. The project manager position is a dynamic role that includes community outreach and engagement, volunteer partner coordination, inclusive facilitation of diverse groups, organizational and program development, and project management.
Community Outreach and Engagement
- Develop strategy and lead implementation of community outreach and engagement
- Consistent outreach to build relationships with formal and informal community groups
- Inclusively navigate complex community and organizational relationships
- Meet regularly with potential, new, and existing community volunteer partners
- Welcome new volunteer partners and provide information about COHC and related projects and work
- Represent COHC and its partners in the community
- Participate in external community groups, committees, and organizations aligned with COHC’s priorities
- Coordinate and support organizational sponsorship and participation in community events
Volunteer Partner Coordination
- Welcome and celebrate the differences of all partner volunteers
- Ensure all volunteers are equally engaged and invested, sharing power and responsibility for COHC’s mission and shared projects
- Guide and support the activities of volunteer partners
- Evaluate the work of volunteers to ensure that programs are of appropriate quality and resources are used effectively
- Prepare and maintain records and reports, such as budgets, participation records, or training materials
Group Facilitation
- Create and maintain a participatory environment for all volunteer partners in discussions and activities
- Cultivate an inclusive culture to ensure all volunteer partners are encouraged to bring diverse perspectives, identities, and life experiences to their partnerships with one another
- Design and guide engaging and culturally competent consensus-building activities and processes
- Provide focus and guidance for group interactions and discussions
- Facilitate and manage conflict or disagreements that may occur
Organizational and Program Development
- Strategic planning and implementation of organizational and programmatic practices and processes
- Collaboratively review and evaluate practices, processes, and programs
- Identify and support improvements and changes to practices, processes, and programs
- Advise executive director and other staff on community needs and recommendations for improvements
- Assist the COHC team in ensuring successful functioning of practices and processes
Project Management
- Design, plan, schedule, coordinate, monitor, and adjust multiple projects to meet deadlines, regulations, and guidelines
- Provide timely updates and progress reports as requested
- Design communications, reports, charts, graphs, and infographics and share information
- Work closely with the executive director, grants and metrics manager, and other project managers on associated work and special projects
- Other projects as assigned
Reporting Structure
The project manager reports to the executive director and supports the strategic and day-to-day operations of the COHC. This person works closely with the other project managers, the grants and metrics manager, and the administrative assistants. The project manager is often one of the first contacts a person may have with the COHC.

- Experience and comfort with Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Comfort and some experience talking and presenting to groups
Education, Experience, and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required and/or a minimum of five years of project management experience working with diverse communities, OR
- Master’s degree and a minimum of three years of project management experience working with diverse communities
- Background in public health, health, health care, social services, and/or community services preferred
- Must live in the Central Oregon region (Confederated Tribes of Warm Springs, Crook County, Deschutes County, Jefferson County, or Northern Klamath County)
