Applying for Grants

In previous cycles of the Regional Health Improvement Plan (RHIP), the Central Oregon Health Council was able to direct funds into large community projects and initiatives. There are no funds currently available for community projects. We are closely monitoring the broader funding environment and will continue to assess opportunities in the new year. If there are future funds, they will likely be used strategically in the form of partial or shared funding, supporting collaborative efforts that address RHIP strategies and objectives rather than fully funding independent projects.

COHC Grant Platform

When funds are available for community investment, COHC grant opportunities are offered through an online grant platform.

To start a grant application, you must log into your account.
If you represent a new organization or are a new account user, you will need to be set up in the system.
For assistance, please email COHC’s grants manager at grants@cohealthcouncil.org.

Grant-Writing Support

COHC began providing access to free grant-writing assistance during the 2020–2024 RHIP cycle. We wanted to make sure that organizations that were new to grant writing or lacked development staff could take advantage of funding opportunities.

When grant opportunities are announced, the Request for Proposal (RFP) will contain the specific requirements. In general, funded projects must serve the Central Oregon region, include Medicaid/OHP members, and meaningfully impact the 2025–2029 RHIP Priority Areas in a way that can be communicated and measured.

The grant consultant provides a certain number of hours of support for a grant application. They cannot write the grant on your behalf but can help you interpret the requirements and review ideas for ways to answer the questions. They can also help review the final draft if it is provided at least ten days before the due date.

If you have further questions, please email grants@cohealthcouncil.org.
